Import Text Plus

Features

Import Text Plus provides some functions not available in Corel Ventura 8:

1) It strips and font and/or font size overrides from RTF files. With version 8, Ventura started processing these font overrides whereas Ventura 7 ignored them. A problem (or feature) in MicroSoft Word allows the Nomal.dot template to override the font in the Normal style. This raises havoc with Ventura 8 and, in many ways, defeats the purpose of Ventura tagging. Import Text Plus was created to solve this concern.

However, there are circumstances where it may not be desirable to remove ALL font changes - for example, with the new Euro currency symbol, until the symbol is added to all fonts and all operating systems, the best approach maybe a font override. In this case, you can go to Other Options in Import Text Plus and select which fonts you want processed on an exception basis. These fonts changes will not be removed from the RTF.

2) The RTF standard allows for embedded graphics. Many writers prefer to see their graphics in the document to assist in describing them. Ventura has always removed (actually, ignored) them. Import Text Plus will, at your request, knit them back into your text using Ventura's Frame Anchors. You can choose (Other Options) to have them aligned to the left margin, right margin, or centered horizontally in the text.
